Batter Up

We signed Caleb up for tball, finally. We had no idea when sign ups where last year and they came and went so this was his first year playing. He has been so so excited to be playing ball like daddy. Tommy took Caleb out and got him a bat and the two of them have spent many evenings outside playing catch, hitting and learning the fundamentals. I don't know who enjoys it more, Caleb or Tommy. His first game was on Sat the 28th. He was so excited that morning!!! When we told him to go get ready, he asked where his batting gloves and baseball pants were because that was what daddy wears :) (Tommy plans to get him some). He also mentioned that he couldn't wait to go in the dugout and literally gave me the puckered lip when I broke the news that in tball you don't have dugouts. This little guy has grown up watching Tommy play and wants to be able to get out there and "be just like daddy". It has been so much fun watching his excitement and seeing my two boys bond together. Caleb is getting pretty good and we had so much fun watching him play, it is a little comical at this age of course but still so fun to look forward to each game and watch him grow. Way to go Caleb!!!

Dance, Dance, Dance

This little girl of mine LOVES to Dance!!! She can not get enough of it. She loves to sing, she loves to perform, she LOVES to be on stage. It is so much fun getting ready for a concert with my sweet little Bailey. She loves the process of costume fittings, dress rehearsals, make-up, hair. She really can't get enough. Her latest Spring Show was held on May 27th. They did a number to "Be Our Guest". It was so cute!! My camera ran out of memory 42 seconds into her dance. Luckily Tommy was taping it on our camcorder but we have yet to find time to figure out how to download it to the computer. So hopefully we will figure it out soon to share with you all :) She did such a good job and had so much fun! She always asks after her number when she gets to go back on stage. Sadly, I have to tell her that she has to wait until the next concert but it doesn't stop her from dancing in the isles and going up on stage after it is all over to dance some more. She even asked this time if she could do a solo after watching some of the other dancers perform solos. It just makes me smile to watch her dance and have such a love for it. I adore my sassy, energetic little girl and I am so proud of her!! You did amazing Bailey and we all love you so much!!

Field Trip To Thanksgiving Point Farm

It has been so fun being a room mom in Caleb's class this year. I have loved being in the classroom and helping with activities and parties and watching Caleb interact with his classmates and friends. On Friday May 20th we headed up to the Thanksgiving Point Farms for a field trip. It had been rainy all week and was to rain Friday as well. We were prepared with umbrellas but we lucked out, it was overcast but held up until about five minutes after we left. It poured after that. Thank you mother nature for holding the rain back long enough to enjoy our day. Caleb was so excited to have me riding the bus with him and being with him throughout the day. We split up into groups and rotated through different stations. We learned about some of the animals and what they eat, what they are used for, etc. We then enjoyed a wagon ride, followed by visitng all the animals and feeding them. It was a lot of fun and the kids were all so well behaved in our group. I love you Caleb and am so glad that I was able to be with you on this special day!

Mother's Day Program

On the Friday before Mother's Day, Caleb's kindergarten class had a Mother's Day program. He was so excited for me to come and I was quite excited myself. It was so cute! The kids sang a song to us called "Little Pearlie Shells." It was adorable! Then each child was called up one at a time to get the present they made an bring it to us mother's. The necklaces that they made and wore during their song were then placed on each of our necks. I opened my gift which Caleb was so excited to give me. It was a plate that he decorated. I still remember doing the same thing for my mom in kindergarten. He did such a great job on it and the wrapping paper was just as cute!We then enjoyed banana splits together. Bailey was so happy to be their with us as well. It was a great start to the Mother's Day weekend. On Sunday the kids and Tommy made me breakfast. We then all got in a nap together after church, which was the best. We then headed to my parents for a BBQ. The guys always do such a good job with the food. It was a such a nice relaxing day! I was treated so well by my little family.

Easter 2011

Easter turned out to be a nice day for the most part. It had been rainy for many days leading up to Easter Sunday. We got up and the kids saw their baskets and then we got ready and headed to church. We had some wonderful talks! We came home and did an Easter egg hunt with the kids. I made some homemade rolls for dinner at my moms. We headed over their later on and my parents did another Easter egg hunt for all the grand kids. The kids were loving all the hunts. My sister Stephanie brought some amazing deviled eggs. She had gotten some recipes out of a magazine from food network stars. My favorite was a chile-cheddar deviled egg. Oh my goodness they were so good!!! We had an amazing dinner of ham, potatoes, homemade rolls, grapefruit-avocado salad, and green salad. My sister also made a delicious fruit-meringue style dessert. It was a great day and a wonderful time to reflect on Christ's resurrection!!

Dying Eggs/Egging Neighbors

I found a really cute idea to print off a page that read "You've Been Egged" (we added by the Royer's) and leave candy filled eggs on the lawn or porch of friends and neighbors. I went out with the kids and bought a ton of plastic eggs and candy and we filled them up and ran around to 7 different houses. The kids had a BLAST leaving this on doorstops, knocking and running. I think it will be a new tradition. Later on in the week our friends invited us over to have chips and dips and dye Easter eggs. The kids had so much fun! Bailey was more anxious to eat the eggs this year. They were barely able to dry before she was cracking in to them.
