Thanksgiving Weekend

Earlier last week we had some friends over to make corny cookies and Pilgrim hats. My parents went to Texas this year to be with my sister's family and all my other siblings went to their in-laws so my brother Kyle and his wife Heather invited us to go to her parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. We had so much fun and the food was of course delicious! I love thanksgiving food :) Caleb and Bailey had a blast playing with Jeremy and Bobbi's girls. Thanks again Frampton family for having us over. That night we started putting up Christmas and then on Friday we did a little Black Friday shopping, went and saw Tangled then hit Texas Roadhouse for dinner. On Saturday I went with the kids to my parents house to watch the BYU/Utah football game with my brother Kyle and his family. Tommy went to the game and then joined us for dinner and watching the BYU basketball game. It has been a fun 3 days!

FHE Halloween Dinner

My family meets every 4th Sunday for dinner and a FHE lesson. I am usually in charge of the October meal since it is around Halloween. I enjoy doing the themed meals and decorating. This year we did mummy pizzas, Bone breadsticks with marinara sauce, buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer and a candy apple salad. I made tags to attach to our drinks. We also had a yummy pumpkin chocolate chip pie along with bat cookies. We drove home from St George that day so i wasn't able to go all out like I had wanted but it was still fun.

This is Halloween...

Since Halloween fell on Sunday this year, it was very low key. Which was nice to have a day to recover after having a busy weekend celebrating "early". I made the kids their skeleton bone cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We got each of the kids a set of The Nightmare Before Halloween figurines that they played with in the morning. Caleb actually had his primary program that day which I look forward too every year. That evening we just relaxed and I made turkey pesto meatballs, but of course made them look like eyeballs and served over spaghetti. You all know me, gotta be festive :)

Trunk or Treat 1 & 2

We had a very busy Halloween weekend. On Friday the 29th our ward had it's Halloween party and trunk or treat. We had a chili dinner and costume contest, then went outside for the trunk or treat. It was a nice night and the kids got a good loot. On Saturday the 30th we went to my parents for dinner and then their trunk or treat. Our friends, the Huberts came along with us. We had not done our traditional Oktoberfest yet so we decided to throw it together that night. My two brothers and their families came too. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate that night. It was a complete downpour so they moved the trunk or treat into the church. It was actually pretty nice that way. The kids got a good amount once again. We were done early on in the night and because of the rain and cold we figured the kids were good with the two trunk or treats so we opted not to go out anymore door to door. Instead, we headed back to our place with our friends got in jammies and watched a scary movie while the kids watched The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Class Party

I am one of the room parents for Caleb's class. It is so fun to be a part of their parties and activities and to be able to be in the classroom with Caleb. They had a Costume parade first that I took Bailey too. It was so fun watching all the kids march around in their costumes. After the parade it was the class party. We played Halloween bingo, a Halloween memory game, decorated cookies and made sucker ghosts. Then his teacher read some Halloween stories and had a cute story/song with actions that they acted out. It was a lot of fun to be in the classroom and witness all the excitement and to be with Caleb.

Baking Away

I did not document all of our themed Halloween baking, but here are a few. I made Ham and Cheese Spider Sandwiches (they look a little more like crabs...lol) for dinner.

Caleb helped me make some Mummie Sugar Cookies. He was such a good little helper.

Pumpkin Carving

Our friends, the Huberts invited us over to carve pumpkins with them on the 25th. I made a 7-layer dip and homemade oreo cookies to take over to snack on while we carved. We all love The Nightmare Before Halloween so we had it playing while we sprawled out on the floor and carved out our pumpkins. It was a fun night! Caleb had picked out a couple little pumpkins and kept asking to carve them, I tried to explain that they were too little to carve but he was insistent so instead we whipped out the paints and I let him go to town. They turned out really cute.
