On Saturday morning (the 3rd) Tommy, myself and the kids, my parents, my brother Kyle and his family and my sister Tammy and her family headed to the Balloonfest. Now we knew it was taking a chance since the day before they did not launch due to the wind and it was not much better Saturday morning but we all headed down with our fingers crossed. It was fairly windy and after about 45 minutes past normal launch time they started to blow a few up but the winds were not in their favor and only about 13 balloons blew up and only 3 lifted off before they were instructed not to send anymore up. It was a bit disappointing but we were glad that we were able to watch a few blow up and it didn't bother the kids at all. In fact, I think our family provided quite a bit of entertainment as Nate, Emmie, Bailey, Caleb and Jeffery busted some SERIOUS moves to the music being played. We picked up some orange juice and muffins and enjoyed a quick breakfast while the kids danced and played around. We came home and got some naps in before heading to my parents to swim and eat. Later that evening we headed down to the Cul de Sac of Fire. It is always so much fun and this year we were able to enjoy some local bands as well as the headliner, Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband. It was so awesome! The kids had so much fun dancing to the music, eating treats and being with their cousins. Bailey and Emmie were so cute dancing with each other. It was a little strange needing blankets and jackets by the time the sun went down but the fireworks were once again awesome and they never seize to throwing in a few "tricks" and surprises. It was a busy but very fun night. On the actual 4th which fell on Sunday this year, we headed to my parents for a few games and a Smores smorgasbord.
